Color of History Foundation, Inc., is a nonprofit organization formed in 2026, dedicated to expanding access to culturally relevant literature and Black history education for youth. We provide educational programs, books, and interactive learning experiences that build reading skills, confidence, and cultural awareness, especially for underserved communities.
Our mission is to strengthen youth academically and strengthen communities by increasing access to literacy activities. Reading remains the foundation of learning. We believe that when reading is fun and engaging, children read more and improve their literacy skills.
Color of History, LLC is the intellectual property owner, publisher, and wholesale vendor providing the materials that Color of History Foundation, Inc. utilizes in its free community-based program. Books and educational material are purchased directly from Color of History, LLC at wholesale prices. Grants and donations to Color of History Foundation, Inc. fund three things, directly:
Culturally centered books and educational materials provided to partners — community, youth, summer camp, faith-based, and after-school programs.
The technology and platform costs required to deliver our programs virtually, so participation isn't limited by location.
Keeping participation free for the families and children our programs serve — no cost is passed on to them.
Sip Juice & Color History is a high-energy, joy-filled online or in-person experience where creativity meets culture. Kids enjoy interactive reading, discussion, and coloring as they explore inspiring stories of culture and Black history, build vocabulary with fun Word-of-the-Day activities, and bring history to life through imagination and creative expression. Each session blends storytelling, laughter, learning, and artistic expression as children use new words, phrases, and expressions to write their own historic drama and use crayons, paints, or markers to create their visual masterpieces. Along the way, they discover powerful stories of resilience, ingenuity, and courage — and begin to see themselves as future history-makers. It's a celebration of creativity, confidence, and culture that improves reading and literacy skills in a fun and engaging manner.
