About the Celebration:
Sip Juice & Color History is an immersive experience designed to empower young minds with stories of resilience, courage, and triumph from Black history. Through engaging activities, children will learn and explore untold stories of the Underground Railroad, the Buffalo Soldiers, great kings and queens of Africa, the Harlem Renaissance, ancient Africa, child heroes of the civil rights movement, and more.

What to Expect:
Each Sip Juice & Color History paint party begins with a lively discussion to set the stage for
the day's story. From there, we dive into empowering short biographies and stories, encouraging participation and questions from our young learners.
Vocabulary-building exercises and creative expression through art follow. This
is when we get art tips and tricks from an artist and we begin to have fun with
crayons, colored pencils, and even watercolors if we choose. We culminate with a unique Black history drama where kids unleash their imagination to add twists to real-life narratives.

We invite you and your child to create and wear attire or accessories, style their hair, prepare a dish or beverage, or wear make-up to represent someone or something from the book we’re reading.
In October 2024 we will be reading and using illustrations from Untold Stories of the Harlem Renaissance as we celebrate International Artist’s Day.
